Established In 1996 February 14, 1996: Document Destruction And Recycling Services (DDRS) is in business! City Carton Recycling purchases Document Destruction Service from seller in Cedar Rapids. Business is started at 901 Ingleside Drive SW on the campus of City Carton Recycling. Chris Ockenfels is Manager. We have one driver, one laborer and one truck / trailer combination.
February 1998: DDRS joins the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID).
September 1998: DDRS moves from what is the current City Carton - Cedar Rapids Shop Building to the present location of 4250 6th Street SW, Cedar Rapids.
February 1999: DDRS installs a new shredder and baler in their Cedar Rapids facility.
March 2000: DDRS-Cedar Rapids is the first company in Iowa to become Nationally Certified (Triple-A) through NAID, and fourth in the nation to do so.
June 2000: DDRS starts its second facility in Davenport. The confidential shredding facility is located within the confines of City Carton Recycling - Davenport plant. The facility is located at 4002 Kimmel Drive, Davenport.
December 2000: DDRS website is up and running on the internet.
March 2001: DDRS - Davenport is Triple-A Certified by NAID.
January 2004: DDRS starts its third confidential shredding facility in Altoona. A building is purchased and work begins to make a medical supply warehouse into a secure shredding operation. The facility is located at 108 5th Avenue SW, Altoona.
May 2004: Chris Ockenfels receives NAID Member Of The Year award.
June 2004: City Carton Recycling - Davenport is completely remodeled and expanded. DDRS - Davenport moves into a brand new secure area within the facility.
September 2004: DDRS - Altoona is Triple-A Certified by NAID.
February 2005: DDRS - Cedar Rapids expands and renovates office and drivers areas.
March 2005: Les Etscheidt is promoted to the newly created position of DDRS Operations Manager.
May 2005: Chris Ockenfels inaugurated President of NAID.
February 2006: DDRS celebrates ten years of secure service! We employ 14 people in three locations: Cedar Rapids, Davenport and Altoona, and have 2200 customers!
March 2009: DDRS begins major expansions at Cedar Rapids and Quad Cities Shredding Facilities. Cedar Rapids expansion includes new, more powerful shredder and baler. Quad Cities Facility doubles in size, for a total confidential shredding facility of 6300 square feet.
September 2009: Construction and expansions at both Cedar Rapids and Quad Cities Shredding Facilities completed. Facilities operating successfully. |
